3 Fat Loss Tips That Work

Reading Time: minutes

The only proven way to lose weight is to eat fewer calories than your body uses. The idea is to find a diet and lifestyle that you can comfortably live with, so here's 3 fat loss tips to help you on your way.

When it comes to losing weight, if you exercise regularly you already have a head start. Whether you wish to lose a few kilos or even more, exercise provides a way to burn off energy.

The difficulty is that even if you work out every day, it is hard to lose weight through exercise alone.

Regular exercise along with a healthy and controlled calorie intake is the key.

Limit Your Food Choices to Maximise Fat Loss

When presented with a wider variety of foods, people eat considerably more. When consuming just one food on its own, your eating rate slows down. You'll become satiated sooner and therefore eat less.

The pleasure gained from eating a certain food increases up to the third or fourth bite then drops off. If you have lots of different foods on your plate, you prolong the sensory pleasure. This can stop you from feeling full.

Simplify your diet - place fewer types of food on your plate.

Practice Portion Control

It might sound obvious, but larger portions make you eat more.

An easy fat loss tip is to try putting smaller portions of energy-dense food (meat, cheese, pizza, etc.) on your plate. Accompany with larger portions of low-calorie foods such as vegetables.

Don't Ban Your Favourite Foods

Including your favourite foods in moderation will make your weight loss plan easier to stick to. It will also be far more pleasurable for you.

If you know that you can eat a little of your favourite indulgence, you'll stop thinking of it as a forbidden food. You'll be less likely to binge on it.

So go ahead and include chocolate or ice cream in your nutrition plan, but make sure it's only a little.

So that's the first 3 tips to get you started. If you're keen to find out more, check out these 10 things that are important to know when it comes to weight loss.
